Best Buys of May

I’m always intrigued by fresh trends and new products, whether it’s skincare, innovative haircare lines, or a unique take on an everyday staple. As a result of this, my vanity and closet as a single woman overflowed with items purchased with an excitement that usually faded weeks or even days later.

Sharing a bathroom and closet with David helped me come around to the idea that having fewer things leads to a happier lifestyle. I’m a better steward of my resources (and my vanity space!) when I invest in items authentically love and will use over and over again. I’m always interested to hear what other people are incorporating into their life that’s bringing them joy, so I’ll be sharing my five best purchases every month.

We were on the road more than half of May, so many of these items were acquired in Florida, New York City, and Santa Monica. Others have been staples in my routine that I haven’t shared here, but all are among my most used items in May…

1. Tan Luxe Face Drops

These drops provide a subtle, sun-kissed glow without exposure harmful UV rays. I apply them after my toner and leave on overnight. Be sure to rinse your hands well after application.

2. Living Proof Perfecting Spray

My thick, curly tangles are a force to be reckoned with. I’m always trying out new leave-in creams, sprays, and serums. This one detangles, softens, and moisturizes without weighing my hair down. A little goes a long way.

3. Club Monaco Wraparound Heel

I picked these wrap sandals up on sale at the Club Monaco flagship store in SoHo. Mine are a beautiful aegean blue color and are very comfortable. They also come in cream if you’re looking for a more versatile option.

4. Cuyana Leather Case Travel Set

During our last few trips, I realized I needed more in-flight organization. I love this pair of leather zipper bags for keeping small items like snacks, chargers, headphones, and moisturizer easily accessible throughout the trip.

5. Mason Pearson Rake Comb

As a blonde, I see a colorist 1-2 times a year and this comb helps me treat my hair gently in between visits. I have noticed significantly less breakage and tangles since I started using this in place of a regular brush.
