Best Buys of July

July came and went like a summer storm. We traveled much less than expected but were still busy. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale arrived and I turned 28. As a result, many of last month’s best buys are better worn in fall or were gifted to me. Keep reading to see my favorite purchases and gifts from last month…

1. Neutral Halogen Jacket

This jacket is part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and is still available. I love the color; it’s khaki but has a muted sage undertone (as seen here on my Instagram). The length reaches about 5 inches below the waist, which I love. It will be a perfect casual throw-on for fall.

2. Berry Colander

I was gifted a small colander by my in-laws for my birthday, and we use it every morning for fresh berries. We’ve been on a berry kick all summer (they’re so sweet this year!) and this colander is perfect for washing up a serving or two for breakfast. It comes with a drip catcher tray and spout for easy clean up. This is a very similar colander and drip tray to the one I was gifted, and I also love this pair of hand-painted white ones, this cream one with a sea foam rim, and this larger taupe one for hosting.

3. Candlefish Candle in Lemon, Ginger, & Musk

On my birthday morning, I picked up an iced coffee and strolled through local boutiques and shops. I wound up in Anthropologie, of course, and picked up this candle. I discovered Candlefish last year on a friend’s birthday trip to Charleston and love their products because, while fragranced, they don’t irritate my eyes or skin. The combination of lemon and ginger reminds me of tea and baking! The neutral jar fits well with our home’s decor as well.

4. Tory Burch Boots

These boots are my favorite purchase of the month. I’ve mentioned them several times on the blog and on Instagram stories already, but I just can’t believe what an incredible deal they are. They were priced at $525 several seasons ago, but I found them for $155 (currently $166 as the price fluctuates slightly). The suede mushroom color makes them compatible with any outfit. They have just the right amount of heel and are very comfortable.

5. Alo Yoga Pants and Sports Bra

On our trip to California this May we stopped by the first brick & mortar Alo Yoga store, and I think I spent an hour gawking at the softness and quality of all the fabric. Last month, I ordered their high-waist leggings in gravel and a white sports-bra. I love the neutral colors and that the longer pants are warm enough to carry me through my late fall runs.
