Best Buys of August

With time split between Raleigh, Wilmington, Cashiers, and Charleston, August flew by. It turned out to be the busiest month of my summer as I continued work on the house, planned our fall trips, and began preparing for my blog’s redesign, which I cannot wait to share with you! I’m so looking forward to September. The cooler months really make my heart come alive. Keep reading to see the items that were most loved in August…

Salad Chopper

Tiring of my usual salad, I bought this salad chopper set to introduce some variety into the mix. I love the texture of chopped salads and feel that it makes them easier to digest (I shared why digestion is key for clear skin here). I feel that I’ve rejuvenated my love for salads, and I’ve been scouring Pinterest for fall salad recipes to create over the next several months.

Faux Fur Bean Bag

I finally found the perfect bean bag for David’s man room (our bonus room) last month. It may seem silly, but it’s my preferred seating in that room. Whether I’m watching TV, working on a laptop, or relaxing, this chair can be adjusted to allow me to lean back or sit up straight. The color goes perfectly with the darker palette of the bonus room. I’ve also included a less expensive, similar bean bag here.

Whitening Electric Toothbrush

My general dentistry specialist who offers treatments such as dental implants and invisalign got me hooked on this toothbrush because it works so well that it eliminates the need to whiten your teeth. It honestly feels like a massage on your teeth and gums, and I love that it has multiple settings for sensitive teeth. David got jealous of my ‘cool’ toothbrush and recently bought one for himself as well – we’re hooked!

Cream Pullover Sweater

This cream sweater is the perfect backdrop for a wide variety of scarves and jewelry and will layer well under jackets and cardigans. The ruffled edges on the cuff add a hint of feminine that I love, without making it over the top girly. You’ll be seeing me in this often this autumn.

Patchwork Scarf

I discovered this scarf perusing King Street in Charleston. I’ve been trying to get creative with my accessories lately, as they can take a relatively simple outfit to the next level. I wore this out of the store as a neck scarf and received at least 4 compliments in the very next hour!
