It’s been five years since I worked in a setting where business casual dress was expected . To be honest, I don’t miss it much. Working for myself allows for less rushed mornings, and who can complain about getting things done in joggers?
However, when I was living in Silicon Valley, I sometimes found myself wishing for more places where that type of dress was more common. Traveling to cities New York City and Atlanta, I always feel inspired seeing the tailored outfits of men and women coming to and from their jobs.
I know my work-from-home lifestyle is the exception, so I wanted to share a few workwear favorites for the girls headed to an office everyday. In my last corporate setting, I found myself constantly reaching for easy trousers and a feminine blouse. A new-to-me brand, Liverpool Los Angeles, specializes in denim but has nice workwear pieces as well.
These trousers are so soft and comfortable, and I know they’d make going into the office a little easier for anyone. Fall is right around the corner, and the burgundy color makes them an ideal transitional piece. I styled them here with this cream Liverpool blouse, which is perfect for September and October in the south when temperatures still sit in the 70s. In the fall, I’d pair the trousers with a cream sweater, a cardigan, or a seasonal blazer with a simple white tee. I absolutely love these herringbone trousers for fall as well. More affordable workwear pieces I’m loving below…
