The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Here—These are My Top 15 Picks

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks are here! To be honest, I know that the NSale can feel overwhelming. With so many alluring deals, where do you start? I recommend going right past the trendy items that will be long gone by next year and focusing on great classic pieces, high-quality beauty items, and cozy home staples you’ll enjoy into the holiday season.

With that framework in mind, I curated a list of 15 items that I think practically anyone will love and that are most worth your time and money. If you’re new to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, my guide will tell you everything you need to know, including how to get Early Access.

If you’re looking for a more robust list with dozens of top picks by category, see my Nordstrom Sale First Look blog post. Without further ado, here are my top Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks.

  1. GHD Curve Classic 1.25-Inch Curl Iron

I’m always surprised that the T3 Curling Iron gets talked about more than the GHD. I’ve owned both, and the GHD not only works better but holds my curl/wave longer. The barrel size of this iron is what I recommend and use for soft, beachy curls, but you can wrap your hair tighter for tight curls or a vintage look.

  2. Jo Malone London Cologne Collection

Jo Malone scents are lovely, and I wear them year-round. They’re designed to be layered, but I wear them solo. This mini-sized set is a perfect starter kit and includes 3 of my absolute favorites (Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and Peony & Blush Suede).

  3. Zella Amazing Crewneck Sweatshirt

I’m much more of a sweatshirt girl than a cardigan girl (Barefoot Dreams has the best if that’s what you’re looking for), and I love length of and the pockets on this crewneck. I plan to wear it on my morning walks this fall. It runs big, so order your normal size if you want your bum covered and size down for a fitted look.

  4. Zella Liana Long Sleeve Performance T-Shirt

As an Alo Yoga and Lululemon devotee, the quality of Zella products has truly shocked me. I own leggings, jackets, and tees from the brand and can honestly say I reach for them as often as my name-brand activewear. This soft performance tee is perfect for outdoor runs or cozying up at home this fall.

  5. Gorjana Taner Bar Chain Earrings

I bought these earrings last year before they went on sale. I don’t like wearing much jewelry or big earrings, so these delicate yet noticeable earrings are perfect for me. For the price ($32.90), they’re a nice addition to any jewelry collection.

  6. Marc Fisher Ltd. Oshay Pointed Toe Bootie

I bought these boots last fall and was so happy to see them included in this year’s Nordstrom sale. They fit true to size and are comfortable enough for all-day wear. I recommend the color Cloud Suede—it goes with both brown and black tones. They run true to size.

  7. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Peel Set

I’m never going to recommend a skincare product that I wouldn’t use myself. These pads are very similar to the medical-grade acne pads I use on a daily basis. If you struggle with acne-prone skin or are over 25 and can’t afford/access medical products, this is a great over-the-counter investment for texture, anti-aging, and breakout prevention.

  8. Cole Haan Wool Blend Wrap Coat

I have this coat in beige (also on sale in black), and it’s one of the best winter items in my entire closet. It’s drapey but not sloppy, and the tie-waist gives you shape. This is usually my coat of choice for winter date nights and dressy holiday events but can easily be dressed down.

  9. Lauren Ralph Lauren Houndstooth Wool Blend Coat

I’ve been looking for a timeless plaid or check coat for some time, and this one checked all my boxes. It’s a blazer style with notched lapels, not bulky whatsoever, and will go with brown and black outfits alike. I plan to style it with loafers and denim often.

  10. RAG & BONE Walker Convertible Leather Tote

My sister put me onto this bag, and it’s a great closet staple. While a splurge, the handles are very comfortable for carrying, it’s large enough to fit a 13-inch laptop without becoming bulky, and the branding is subtle. It also has a detachable strap and can be worn as a crossbody bag.

  11. Nordstrom Moonlight Crop Pajamas

This is my first go with Nordstrom sleepwear, but the under $50 price made the decision to try them easy. They also come in a short set and a long-sleeve version if you’re looking for a cooler or warmer new pair.

  12. Patagonia Radalie Insulated Parka

I picked up this waterproof parka for casual and active days spent outdoors this fall and winter. This is thin enough to be packed and has great reviews. I like the short jacket version as well.

  13. Vince Wool & Cashmere Sweater

Lightweight cashmere is a winter-wardrobe layering staple because it’s thin yet warm. I have several Vince sweaters and can attest to the quality of the materials and how luxurious they feel—and they last for years when well-cared for. For a similar, less expensive option, I recommend this cashmere sweater by Halogen.

  14. UGG Whistler Throw Blanket

I’m not kidding when I say that David and I use our UGG blanket every single day. It’s our throw of choice (we have many) to cuddle up in and watch Netflix, and David will go out of his way to find it if it’s not in his man room.

  15. Bobbi Brown Easy Essentials Eye, Cheek, & Lip Set

My go-to look is a soft smokey eye with nude lips, and this set by Bobbi Brown has everything I need to make that possible. It comes with a cute pouch, and my hope is that I’ll only need to pack it and 1-2 other items in my makeup bag for any fall trips we take this year.

There you have it! My top 15 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 Picks.

Keep in mind that these aren’t the only sale picks I recommend—just my opinion on the best items. If you’re looking for a more robust roundup, I shared dozens of picks by category in my catalog sneak peek post. In that post, you’ll find what I recommend for denim, handbags, home decor, moto and leather jackets, and many other categories from top brands like Tory Burch, Nike, Adidas, and Madwell.

As a reminder, Public Access begins August 19 and ends August 30. Nordstrom cardholders can shop earlier, depending on the Nordy Club status they hold (Icon, Influencer, etc.). Be sure to add sale favorites to your Wish List, as this will “bookmark” what you love on and the Nordstrom App. The Wish List helps you keep track of sold out Nordstrom sale items, sends you a notification when something you love is back in stock, and makes it easy to checkout quickly once the sale opens to you.

I will likely share what I bought on social media once my purchases arrive, so if you’re not already following me on Instagram, come join the party. xo!
