10 Staples of My Winter Wardrobe I Rewear Every Year

About four times a year, I like to audit my wardrobe to identify gaps that need to be filled ahead of the change in seasons. This month I’ve been focused on winter styles, making a mental checklist of key pieces I want to bring back or refresh before the cold sets in.

One of the best parts of being a fashion blogger is that I’m constantly testing products, which often leads to finding gems in every category: the best bodysuit for layering, the perfect cashmere scarf, a flattering puffer, and so on.

Since winter prep is on my mind, I thought it’d be fun to share 10 of my tried and true winter wardrobe staples that I’ll be bringing back and rewearing this year. All of these have my stamp of approval for the cold months ahead!

10 Winter Wardrobe Staples I Rewear Every Year

Wolford Bodysuit

I’ve owned many bodysuits and the Wolford bodysuits are the best ones around. They look polished, the fabric is soft, and it’s a staple to wear with jeans, trousers, dress pants, and skirts. Highly recommend!

Everlane Sweaters

If you read this post then you know I love Everlane basics, especially when it comes to knitwear. Having a crewneck and turtleneck sweaters, shells, and tees in a variety of neutrals makes layering a cinch. The cashmere crewnecks, pima turtlenecks, and pima crewnecks are my favorites!

Commando Faux Leather Leggings

I first picked up these faux leather leggings last year and loved wearing them with flats, tall boots, and oversized sweaters. They add a bit of warmth and are an easy-to-wear staple when you’re not in the mood for pants or denim.

Sperry Waterproof Boots

These boots are the best for wintery conditions. They’re thick and warm but easy to walk in and reliable on ice and snow. They’re sleek relative to other snow boots and the bit of shearling adds a stylish touch. You can see them styled on me here.

Blue & Cream Beanie

Soft, oversized, perfectly slouchy—this is truly the perfect beanie to throw on with a casual look and tousled hair underneath. I dry-clean mine once per year and the cashmere feels good as new!

Nordstrom Touchscreen Gloves

These gloves are lined in cashmere to add a luxe feel and, most importantly, the touchscreen functionality actually works! Perfect for a chilly day spent exploring outdoors. They also come in brown.

White + Warren Cashmere Scarf

No scarf I’ve tried has ever compared with the cloudy softness of this cashmere travel wrap. It’s on my gift guides annually for a reason! It’s beautiful, soft, warm, and makes a great airplane companion as well. See it on me here.

Bernardo Long Puffer Coat

This maxi puffer coat was a late winter addition earlier this year and has been my favorite long puffer to date. It’s soft and light yet warm and, unlike other puffer coats that can give a marshmallow effect, has a flattering tailored shape.

Commando Opaque Tights

I cannot explain to you the delight of finding a pair of tights as a 5’9″ woman that actually fit! The waistband is comfortable and they’re durable (low chance of snags). See them styled here.

Mackage Wool Wrap Coat

Although technically a new addition to my winter wardrobe, I already know I’ll be wearing this wrap coat for years to come. It comes in several neutrals and the quality is incredible. It layers beautifully and is lightweight yet warm—there’s nothing better than being bundled up in something chic on a windy, chilly day!
