Of all the earthy and neutral tones, soft sage might be at the top of my list. While I try to work it in throughout the year, it’s a natural color to bring out during springtime. A couple of weeks ago, I spotted this colorblock skirt and wanted it immediately. When I saw this white wrap top, I knew it would be the perfect match. It has cascading ruffles and a bow at the hip for a feminine touch, and it also comes in cream.

We’ve actually hit a sweet spot here in North Carolina this spring, with temperatures sticking around the 70s most days. This is a rarity for our state, since mild temperatures usually fade rather quickly into the blistering humid days of summer. Since it’s been mild, I’ve been wearing a lot of skirts like this one, along with high-waisted pants and lightweight jumpsuits. I’m so grateful for seasonal spring weather around here!

As I was editing photos for this post, I realized I hadn’t commented much about how to pair colors to create an outfit. One way is to pick a centerpiece for the outfit and create the palette around that. In this case, my centerpiece was the colorblock skirt. I paired it with the white wrap top, which also comes in cream, to allow the skirt to stay front and center in the outfit. My nude BP. heels (only $60, SO comfortable, and come in many colors) and my blush H&M bag were a nice choice to draw out the very subtle pink undertones in the tan part of the skirt. I tend to always choose gold jewelry, but especially in this outfit since my bag has gold hardware.
