Great sweaters are one of my favorite closet staples—they’re incredibly comfortable and many have enough detail to make a simple outfit feel elevated. You could go with something bold, like my Veronica Beard striped red and black turtleneck sweater. This knit is so flattering on—and I’m not usually a stripes girl. I dressed it up with dark flare jeans by FRAME, Schutz strappy sandals, and an Amazon cloud clutch. For added warmth, I wore a longline black blazer.

Getting dressed up is just one way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I know many of you may be staying in this year or having galentine’s, so I wanted to share a few cute Valentine’s day outfit ideas for whatever you’re up to.
Valentine’s Night In
If you’ll be staying in like us (David’s birthday is mid Feb so we always keep Valentine’s simple), you could treat yourself to athleisure (I love Alo Yoga sets) or cozy up in an oversized knit sweater.
Casual Valentine’s
If red and pink are totally off the table for you, go with a crisp white sweater and add a pop of red lipstick. This is one of my favorite winter date night looks. I’ll tuck a slim-fit, long sleeve crewneck pullover into denim with a leather jacket or blazer and heeled boots. Bodysuits work well for this too.
Dressy Valentine’s
For when you want to get dressy but aren’t taking it to the nines, try a neckline that shows some skin, like a v-neck, cutout, or one-shoulder cashmere sweater. Any would look great with a mini skirt and tights, but I prefer the combination below.
