Last week we got back from Miami, Florida, and even though it didn’t go as planned, I wanted to recap my Miami outfits (those I wore and didn’t get a chance to) in case you have a warm weather getaway on the books.
This was our first trip to South Beach, and if you’ve never been, I can’t recommend it enough! Visiting in March was wonderful (Miami locals say spring is the best time), but the weather there is beautiful year-round.
Miami is great because the city offers plenty to do in addition to the beaches. There’s a gorgeous boardwalk and everything from art museums and rooftop bars to outdoor dining, luxury shopping, water sports, and nightlife.
If you’re wondering what to pack for Miami, see below for my Miami outfits and my Miami packing list.
Miami Outfit Ideas
1. White Dresses
I love breezy white dresses at the beach and packed two this trip—the white mini below and a white maxi. Pair with neutral accessories like I did or add bright, colorful items for a pop.

Outfit Details: For Love & Lemons Dress, Nine West Sandals (sold out, similar here), Dragon Diffusion Tote (if sold out, similar here)
2. Flowy Rompers and Jumpsuits
I always pack at least one jumpsuit or romper for the beach. Flowy, floral styles are perfect for day to night looks. I bought the Zimmermann romper below pre-owned using my tips for finding designer discount clothes.

Outfit Details: Zimmermann Romper (old), Veronica Beard Sandals, Hunting Season Clutch (old, similar here)
3. Floral Dresses
A loose-fitting, lightweight maxi dress is perfect for a day off the beach spent exploring in town. The sun and heat weren’t too intense on our trip, but even in the summertime I think this floral dress would do well.

Outfit Details: Juliet Dunn Dress, Steve Madden Sandals (also love these), Hunting Season Clutch (old, similar here)
4. Bathing Suits & Cover-Ups
South Beach is beachy enough to walk from your hotel pool to lunch in a coverup. I packed coverup dresses to make sure I felt comfortable eating indoors. This t-shirt coverup was my favorite of the trip. I also brought this Amazon coverup skirt, this Amazon crochet coverup, and the sarong from this swimsuit roundup.

Outfit Details: Johanna Ortiz Swimsuit, Amazon Coverup, Amazon Sunglasses, Mineral Sunscreen
5. Denim and Colorful Tops
For cooler evenings, I wore light wash jeans with a statement top and heels. I recommend packing a few tops (I brought a pastel blouse and a printed bodysuit) to mix and match.

Outfit Details: Farm Rio Bodysuit, AGOLDE shorts
6. Two Piece Sets
Coordinating separates are the best! They make getting dressed simple, look chic, and feel light and breezy on. Look for cooling fabrics, like linen, to keep things breathable.

Outfit Details: Zimmermann Top (similar, less expensive here), Reformation Set Skirt (similar, less expensive here), Steve Madden Sandals, Dragon Diffusion Bag (sold out, similar here)
7. Bright Dresses
Patterns and bright colors are very trendy in Miami. I wore the striped mini dress below and this peachy wrap dress, but I wish I’d packed something even bolder! If you want to wear a color that’s outside of the box, Miami is the place to go for it.

Outfit Details: Alexis Mini Dress (old, similar here), Caterina Bertini Bag, Nine West Sandals (sold out, similar here)
8. Jeans and Sandals
If you’re traveling from a cooler environment to Miami, try pairing jeans with layers like I did below for the flight. I wore white denim with black sandals, a long-sleeve black tee, and a lightweight blazer. This was perfect for staying comfortable in the A/C on the plane.

Outfit Details: Blazer (old, similar here), Vince Tee (old, similar here), RE/DONE Jeans, Sam Edelman Sandals, Naghedi Tote
