This year I’ve been focused on adding more “third pieces” to my wardrobe, which are those layers—usually blazers and jackets—that finish off a whole look. One I’ve fallen in love with recently is the white blazer. It’s adds such a pretty, eye-catching crispness to everything from dresses and skirts to denim, especially in warm weather!
I think you’ll love having one in your wardrobe as much as I have. Whether you need convincing or are in search of white blazer outfit ideas, below I’m sharing what to wear with a white blazer and styling tips for the office, evening, and day. There’s also a shortlist of white blazers I personally recommend at the very bottom of the post!
White Blazer Outfits
With Blue Jeans
Blue jeans and a white blazer are a match made in heaven. The blue and white combination with sneakers or sandals is a perfect casual look for spring and summer, especially for indoors. For a dressier take, swap in pumps or heeled sandals like I did above.
With White Jeans
There are a few all-white looks in this post, but this one might be my favorite. I styled it with white sandals for a casual feel, but you could dress it up pumps or heels, like the blue jean look above.
I love the sophisticated touch a white blazer brings to shorts, and it’s practical, too——drape it over your bag for running errands then over your shoulders for an air-conditioned lunch. Here I have a dressed up vibe with a nice tank, tailored shorts, and heels, but you could wear cutoff denim shorts, a casual t-shirt, and sandals for a relaxed look.
A white on white look is the ultimate timeless statement for the bride, a white party, or just because. I’m wearing off-white trousers here, but you could sub in white jeans, white wide leg pants, white joggers—the options are endless.
Over a Satin Skirt
I love the way a white blazer jacket looks draped over the shoulders in the summer, and a bodysuit or tank and satin skirt with sandals is one of my favorite combos to add that finishing touch to. This is a perfect classy outfit for a dressy backyard party, fundraiser, or nice dinner.
Over a Midi or Maxi Dress
Try your white blazer over a colorful or floral summer dress, like the block print dresses I shared recently. This combination works well for church or a cool evening by the beach. For the office, try a mid-length black dress and work-appropriate heels or flats.
Over a Mini Dress
For a sweet white blazer outfit that’s ready for date night, a baby shower, or a wedding shower, opt for a mini. I like colorful dresses underneath neutral blazers for a pop, but you could go monochrome with a white dress like I did here.
If you’re in search of a white blazer to add to your wardrobe, here are few I recommend (each serving a slightly different purpose or budget):
- Crepe Blazer: A crepe option like the Cinq a Sept blazer I’m wearing in this post is perfect if you plan to wear yours in business casual or dressy settings often. It is very pricey, but the quality is obvious out of the box and the fit is crazy flattering. I wear size 4.
- Double Breasted Blazer: Seen on me in the slip skirt white blazer outfit above, the L’Agence Kenzie blazer is another investment piece that is worth the money if you want an expert fit you can wear for years! L’Agence is known for creating classic pieces that are designed to never go out of style. Express makes a great lookalike under $200.
- Linen Blazer: For a breathable, lightweight option that will keep you cool on even the hottest summer days, J.Crew’s Parke linen blazer is a crowd favorite under $200 that comes in petite and tall sizes.
- Express Blazers: Every Express blazer I’ve purchased has quickly become one of my most worn! They nail the combination of price, good fit, and lightweight fabric and come in double breasted, one button, and boyfriend styles.
