Spring Shoe Guide 2023

spring shoes 2023

Shoes have been one of the most common shopping requests recently, with many of you looking to refresh your open styles for spring. I thought it would be helpful to share a roundup of spring 2023 shoes, including styles I own from last season that I’m excited to re-wear, what I’m buying this year, and recommendations for common shoe requests.

I tried to include spring shoes for every setting and budget, from comfortable travel sneakers to shoes for the office, dressy heels for events, and workhorse sandals you can wear all throughout the summer.

For the sake of versatility, most of my sandals and flats are neutral and made from natural materials (raffia, leather), but I included a few colorful options if you’re looking for a pop! Let me know if you have any questions about sizing or styling in the comments.

Flat Sandals

Everyday Leather Sandal: If you love the look of Hermès sandals but not the price point, I’ve worn these lookalike sandals for a few seasons and love them (true to size). I also love this pair under $200.

Greek Sandal: These Ancient Greek sandals are incredibly comfortable to wear—don’t be fooled by the flat sole or the straps. I don’t know how they do it, it’s like magic. True to size. More colors here.

Leather Sandals: Last summer in Charleston I stopped by Hampden Clothing and fell in love with Emme Parsons sandals. They didn’t have my size sadly, but this is a similar style I ordered last week. The leather and barely-there straps should look beautiful with everything from dresses to work pants.

Raffia Sandals: If your style tends to be relaxed throughout the summer, a raffia sandal looks great with easy dresses, blouses, skirts, and so much more. These are the $55 raffia slides I’ve worn for years.

Dressy Sandals

Raffia Heels: These square-toe raffia heels are the perfect mix of elegance and relevance. I wore them with nearly everything in Cabo and found them easy to walk in and not too high. Highly recommend these $100 heels! True to size.

Classic Heeled Sandals: These simple yet refined heeled sandals are among my most worn throughout the year. The strap design is incredibly flattering. True to size. If you want something lower, they just released a kitten heel version. True to size.

Raffia Bow Heels: The textured raffia on these bow heels screams spring, and the knotted detail amps up the feminine feel of any outfit. True to size.

Sneakers

Cushy White Sneakers: My go-to sneakers don’t change much from season to season! These are the best cushy sneakers for travel. True to size.

Refined Sneakers: These are the elevated sneakers when I want to look put together. See my Common Projects review for more details. True to size.

Colorful Sneakers: The Chloe Nama sneakers definitely have my attention as a colorful option to add (these are similar under $150). I’m waiting for a good sale.

Flats and Mules

Neutral Mules: One of my most-worn pairs of shoes is a neutral mule I got from Nordstrom years ago. This under $50 pair on Amazon is similar and has good reviews.

Suede Mules: Jenni Kayne apparel can be hit or miss, but I have gotten so much wear out of her mules. They’re comfortable and true to size for me. The leather version in ‘natural’ would be a great neutral for spring.
