It’s hard to believe summer is just a few weeks away. I’ve been channeling my anticipation and creating a summer wardrobe wishlist. Quite honestly, I don’t know if I’m more excited for the season or for the shopping I’m doing leading up (only kidding, slightly).
To me, the ideal warm weather wardrobe evokes the relaxation that’s so unique to summer. I curated my wishlist with classic sensations in mind, from feeling the sun on your skin to the smell of salty sea air and the coolness of a fresh dip.
These are the pieces I envision wearing for—and maybe even enhancing—those quintessential summer experiences. Of course, they won’t all end up in my wardrobe, but would it really be a wishlist if they did? A girl can dream. Enjoy!
Summer Wishlist
1. Floral Maxi
Agua by Agua Bendita is one of my favorite brands for summer and vacation. Every design is so special. While expensive, I find them worthwhile investments that I rewear every year. This blue maxi is a current favorite, but I have my eye on this top and short set and this coverup.
2. White Dress
I love the ease of a crisp white dress and try to add 1-2 to my wardrobe each summer. The eyelet style pictured is an investment, but white dresses on the budget-friendlier side I love include this tie-shoulder dress and this halter dress. Don’t miss my white summer dress roundup for more at a variety of price points!
3. Draped Dress
Black isn’t the obvious choice for summer, but this TOTÊME dress caught my attention. I’m seeing it with simple sandals for a daytime function or kitten heels for evening. It’s wearable into early fall with a layer. If white’s more your vibe, don’t miss this similar KHAITE linen dress.
4. Playful Mini
I love a floral mini dress to wear with casual raffia sandals by day and wedges by night. The sleeves on this dress by Doen add to its playful feel! You could add a natural belt to create a waist (Sezane’s are beautiful), but I love the bohemian vibe of the relaxed fit.
5. Floral Top
Playful tops are always on my summer wishlists—I look for statement pieces that pair well with a variety of separates. This colorful ruffled halter is in my cart, and I’m already imagining it styled with denim shorts, a linen skirt, easy white jeans, and high-waisted denim.
6. Colorful Kimono
I picked up a few things from Julia Berolzheimer x Hermoza, but this colorful kimono is the favorite. I love to have at least one fuller-coverage coverup on hand, and this one could even be worn out with a slip and strappy sandals—two for one!
7. White Blouse
This breezy blouse under $200 has easy flow and a lightweight fabric that’s perfect for summer. It’s comfortable but manages to look put together with anything and can be layered into early fall.
8. Everyday Tank
This AMO tank has been a staple for a few years—the long torso makes it great for tucking. It’s pricier than your average tank, but the fabric is substantial and not hot. I’m adding the black version this season!
9. Tailored Shorts
I wore the dressy shorts in this post all the time last year, so when I saw them release a similar pair in white, I had to have them. If you’re in the market for tailored shorts, I also love this and this pair by Veronica Beard, this pair by Rag & Bone, and this pair by Reiss.
10. Linen Pants
I’m all set with summer denim, but a lightweight pant for days I’m not feeling jeans has been calling my name. This neutral pair has an elasticized waist for comfort. I also love this affordable style.
11. White Sunglasses
I saw white sunnies on someone with similar coloring to mine on vacay this spring, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. They looked so chic! I contemplated the Celines in white (I have and love in black) but opted for a lookalike pair for less.
12. Neutral Sandals
I have a good number of sandals I love, like this black strappy pair, these brown hermes dupes, and these raffia slides, but I’ve been on the prowl for something with an elevated feel. I contemplated these and these but ultimately added this brown pair to my list for the ease of sliding them on and off.
13. Sarong
Agua by Agua Bendita makes my favorite sarongs, and this new print is calling my name. I love the color combo—it would look great with ivory, lilac, blue, pink, yellow. Lots of pairing options!
14. One Piece
Going off the above, I have a handful of bikinis and one pieces in solid colors (this lilac Hunza G, this cream Hunza G, and this black Vix top and bottom), but I absolutely love a statement one piece with unique details or a playful print like this one.
15. Woven Wedges
Wedges are back, and I’m here for it! My most-worn heels last summer were Veronica Beard, so that’s who I turned to this year. These wedges are classy, comfortable according to reviews, and the neutral will pair perfectly with the straw bags in my wardrobe.
There you have it! Of course, that’s not all, so I see below to shop a few more pieces on my summer 2023 wishlist. What’s on your wishlist for summer? I’d love to hear in the comments!
