This is my favorite time of the year to buy clothing, but cold weather pieces tend to be made with materials (think wool, leather, and tweed) that are expensive. It doesn’t have to be so! I’ve been perusing my favorite retailers and selecting affordable pieces to help you build a versatile fall wardrobe. Below, everything you see is under $100, from coats to hats, sweaters, and gloves.
1. Everyday Scarf
A classic neutral scarf will never go out of style. The houndstooth and grid pattern combination in this scarf is so unique! For just $29, this is a steal that can be easily paired with black, white, red, and beige tops.
2. Eberjey Joggers
Amber is a classic autumn hue that I love and gravitate toward once fall rolls around. These joggers by Eberjey would be an easy go-to for nights in watching Netflix, a hot cocoa sesh with friends, or a quick errand when paired with sneakers.
3. House Slippers
I received a pair of UGG slippers several years ago as a gift and haven’t gone a day without them. They keep my feet perfectly toasty around the house, especially on our bathroom tile. I love that I can walk outside in them to let our pup out or grab the paper.
4. Cream Sweater
I own this sweater in black from last year’s collection and wear it all the time. This year’s version combines two of my favorite things: a mock neck collar and an oatmeal shade. Get 40% off this sweater with code NEWIN40.
5. Charcoal Denim
Darker denim is nice when things get cooler as it tends to match the grayer, moodier vibe of the season. I love these Levi’s for a vintage look and would wear them with a neutral sweater and booties everyday or feminine hiking booties and a teddy jacket for the pumpkin patch.
6. Leather Gloves
These gloves are from the Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific line that released earlier this week. The medium length will keep your wrists warm. They’re also lined with cashmere, which means cold fingertips won’t be a problem.
7. Checked Poncho
This caramel poncho with red detail is so classic looking. I love ponchos for fall in the south because you never know when the afternoon’s going to be a bit warm, and ponchos create an easily removable layer. I’d wear it with a cream or evergreen turtleneck, my favorite dark denim, and OTK boots.
8. Black Booties
I was shocked at how similar these booties are to the Loeffler Randal Islas. At less than a quarter of the price, they’re a must have with incredible reviews. The pointy toe elongates the legs and the knit shaft makes them easy to slip on and off.
9. Olive Wool Coat
The deep green color of this coat is one of my favorite seasonal shades. The hood takes this coat down to a causal, everyday level. If you want something more neutral, this light beige coat with a notched lapel is a nice option as well.
10. Cider Bodysuit
I absolutely love this bodysuit. It has a boudoir look while being more conservative and is awesome for high-waist jeans or corduroy mini skirts this season. It also comes in beautiful green and burgundy shades.
11. Bonus: Cable Knit Beanie
People laugh when I tell them this, but my ears are so small that they are perpetually cold! I’m always in need of a beanie to keep me warm. This cable knit pom beanie by Barbour is a closet essential as we look forward to the colder, potentially snowy season ahead.
