Maybe it’s the California girl in me, but one of my favorite looks has always been glowing, bronzed, makeup-free skin. My days of tanning beds and long hours spent in the sun hoping to achieve a golden summer glow are long behind me, now that I know how important it is to use SPF and stay as covered as possible. These are my favorite products for achieving a natural, fresh-off-vacation look any time of year.
I mix this with moisturizer every two to three days for a natural glow. Just 1-3 drops works beautifully, and this is the only facial self-tanner that doesn’t break me out, look orange, or expire quickly. I had my first bottle for more than a year—it lasts forever!
When a skincare brand releases a self-tanning product, it gets my attention. These little towlettes not only exfoliate and improve the texture of your skin but create an even, natural-looking tan. These are perfect for on-the-go and for avoiding spills in your gym bag, weekender, or tote.
This Marc Jacobs bronzer is also my recommendation for anyone who likes a natural bronze without any shimmer. It’s pigmented, so you don’t need much, and it photographs beautifully. I use a bronzer brush to apply on my cheekbones, nose, chin, and neck.
I tend to be cautious when it comes to self-tanner for the body, as some tones appear fake and some applicators look streaky. This feels good, is easy to use, and the tan is incredibly even and believable even on the most pale skin.
I couldn’t write this post without leaving you with a sunscreen option. I keep my skin protected by applying this sunscreen daily, rain or shine, winter or summer. It’s impossible to completely avoid the sun no matter the season, and this lightweight formula doesn’t feel greasy or break me out.
I use this on just my bare face or on top of blush and foundation to add a bit of highlight and glow! A little goes a long way and gives you just enough color to notice. It can be layered for a night time look or applied conservatively if you don’t want to look all done up.
