What I Bought from the 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Looking for info about this year’s sale? See my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale guide!

Public Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins today, meaning that anyone and everyone can finally shop! During Early Access, I surprised myself with a few purchases but wound up with classic, neutral fall staples, which was the goal.

Below is a shortlist of what I purchased with links, sizing details, and lookalikes for sold out items. I’ll be sharing outfit ideas like this and this in the Shop until the sale ends on August 8, so swing by for some fall outfit inspiration! This coat wasn’t even initially on my radar, but it’s a budget-friendly piece with a classic cut that looks good over denim, dresses, and skirts. The rust color is so rich and a nice departure from your classic camel coat, and it also comes in light blue.

This shawl collar coat blew me away. It looks like a designer piece for a fraction of the price; the shawl collar is beautiful, the pattern is sophisticated, and it feels great against your skin. It has pockets and isn’t too heavy.

Wearing S, but size down.

This coat was part of last year’s sale but sold out insanely quick. This year, they brought it back in grey, cool brown, and sage tones that were worth the wait. It has a long silhouette, oversized patch pockets, and mid-weight feel.

For $64, this jacket really holds its own—it looks great styled with jeans and booties. Full disclosure: I was able to grab the shearing jacket I originally wanted that sold out during a restock, so I’ll be returning this. I still recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable, casual fall jacket.

This dress far exceeded my expectations—it’s lined, has beautiful movement, and has pockets! See how I styled it for now and later here. It comes in more colors—the black is on my wish list!

Wearing size 2. Fit is forgiving.

Whether you’re headed back to the office this fall or want a classic skirt for date night, this silky skirt is a great option! The slightly curved hemline isn’t overly modern, and it comes in a warm brown color (shown) and olive green. If you’re not sure you’re ready to invest, this is a similar skirt under $50 that’s also on sale!

Vince items are some of the first to capture my attention at the sale because they rarely get marked down, especially new. These lightweight navy pants have a bit of stretch and a clean look that pairs nicely with statement blouses and sweaters.

Wearing small. Size up if between sizes.

These BLANKNYC jeans are under $55 and the only denim I brought home with me. The destroyed hem detail looks great with ankle booties and the medium wash goes with everything.

Wearing 26. Fit slightly small.

You guys know I love a good floral top, and I just couldn’t resist this one for fall. I’ve already had fun styling it with satin skirts, denim, and pants. Nili Lotan is one of my favorite high-end brands, so it’s a great time to grab this while it’s marked down!

These are my favorite booties from the sale! The Tan Suede color goes with everything. It’s hard to find a chunky heeled bootie that’s comfortable to wear the entire day, but these are it. If you’re not sold on the cutout design, this is the classic pair I recommend.

Fit true to size.

I don’t wear much jewelry, but when I do, I opt for simple gold rings, necklaces, and bracelets. This Gorjana coin necklace has raised detailing on the pendant that makes it look more expensive than it is. I wore it with the tank dress above here, but it will also look great with a satin blouse or v-neck sweater this fall.
