Fall Event Style Edit
Every fall we have a handful of events, such as fundraisers, galas, and openings. These vents call for attire somewhere between smart casual and dressy casual. Last week we attended our first of the season. I wanted to share my look and fall event styles in case you have something similar on the calendar this year.
These typically raise awareness for a cause. So, I keep my outfits understated so as not to distract from the program. However, it’s elevated so I look forward to getting dressed. For me, that looks like mixing fluid pieces. It could be mixing blouses and slip skirts, with tailored pieces, like trousers, blazers, and belts.
Outfit Details: Generation Love Blouse, NonChalant Pants (similar, less expensive here), Mansur Gavriel Clutch, Veronica Beard Heels, J.Crew Belt (old, similar here), Reiss Blazer (not pictured)
For this fall event look, I paired these wide-leg trousers, which are everything I want in an evening pant—high-waisted, relaxed, flattering, and pocketed—with a rusty silk blouse. Finished with a belt, heels, and clutch, it felt like just the right combination of modest, seasonal, and chic.
I started the night with this blazer from my fall wishlist over my shoulders. Then, I hardly took it off as we were right underneath a fan the entire night! You never know what the weather (or seating arrangement) will be this time of year, so a layer is a must.
See below for more picks to wear to a fall event this season. From long sleeve dresses to pants and blouses, there’s something for everyone depending on the look you want to achieve!
Fall Event Outfit Picks
High on my wishlist, this once-in-a-lifetime LBD has an elegant square neckline and a kick hem to add an updated touch. Let it shine with simple ankle heels and an evening clutch for an event, then bring it back out for the holidays layered under a chic wool wrap coat.
Shop NowThe deep green of this off-the-shoulder top will carry over beautifully into the holiday party season. Style it for a fall event with high-waist pants to accentuate the waist. Bring it back out for a fall night out with dark jeans and platforms.
