It feels like Jenni Kayne is everywhere these days. They’ve really perfected their approach as a one-stop shop for relaxed yet polished apparel with a California cool girl feel, and it shows.
I visited the Jenni Kayne store in Newport Beach for the first time last summer, and what caught my attention most is how well they do high-quality basics in palettes (earth tones and neutrals) that mix and match. You could easily create a complete seasonal wardrobe with just JK pieces!
It’s been a few years since I purchased my first JK sweater, so I thought it was high time I tried other items from the brand. See below for a fresh haul featuring staple Jenni Kayne summer styles!
Jenni Kayne Summer Try On Haul
Cove Dress
Pictures of the Cove dress don’t do it justice. It is stunning in person! The fabric is substantial but has flow and lightness. It’s the perfect summer party/evening dress but also works in a casual look with sandals. It has a v-neck, pockets, adjustable straps, crisp edges, and is lined. It also comes in white.
I recommend ordering a size down unless you are busty. I’m in XS.
Rivieria Slip Dress
Slip dresses are tricky because they can show every contour or be too clingy. The Riviera slip dress is neither. It skims the body just right thanks to the raw silk fabric (one of my favorites—raw silk has gorgeous drape and works for a variety of temps). This dress is not form-fitting or oversized—just perfectly flattering. It’s a workhorse that dresses up and down with a simple shoe and accessory swap.
I debated between XS or S, and I’m glad I ordered S.

Linen Keaton Pant
If Jenni Kayne’s California casual style speaks to you, I think you’ll love these pants. They’re lightweight, smooth, and the fit is flattering. I love the high waist for tucking, and the inseam is great for my height (5’9″—if you’re shorter, they may be too long for flats). My only complaint is that the pockets stick out a bit at the hips. I’m considering having mine sewn flush.
I found these true to size.

Willow Blouse
I went back and forth on the Willow Blouse thinking it might be too boxy, but the glowing reviews convinced me and I’m glad I added it to cart! This is a gorgeous, light-as-air, billowy top. More elevated than a t-shirt but not overdone. It looks best tucked and comes in four colors as well as a long sleeve version.
I sized down for a less oversized look.
Pleated Shorts
These are a short version of Jenni Kayne’s relaxed pleated trousers. Pleats aren’t usually a detail I like, but it works with these shorts since the high waist counters any added bulk. They’re classy yet relaxed, and the length is perfect to dress up or keep casual. They’re more beige than ivory, and they’re not see-through.
They run a little small in the waist, but I took my true size 2 and they’ve relaxed a bit with time.
Oversized Cotton Fisherman Sweater
This is a longer, oversized version of the best-selling Cotton FIsherman, and it is SO much better than the OG. I ordered in Beechwood, which has pink undertones but reads brown. This is a classic, cozy, high-quality cotton sweater that can go ultra casual over leggings or layer over the shoulders with a dress for the evening. Definitely a top Jenni Kayne purchase for me.
I sized down for a less oversized fit and still have a little room.

Cotton Cocoon Cardigan
I bought the Cotton Cocoon Cardigan last August, but I wanted to include it since it’s one of JK’s most popular items. After a year with it, I can honestly say that it’s everything you want in a spring/summer cardigan. The design is executed beautifully, from the cuffs to the button placement, the length, and the slightly oversized fit. It’s the number one layer I reach for to keep comfortable in A/C, on breezy beach nights, and during travel.
I recommend sizing down as it runs large. I have XS.

Cotton Basic Tee (Not Shown)
The price ($75) seems steep for a t-shirt, but this is a hardworking, high-quality basic that I can’t recommend enough. It’s lightly structured but has a relaxed feel, does not stretch with wear, is not sheer, and drapes in all the right places. It’s held up great in the wash.
I ordered my true size.
