One area of my wardrobe that I’ve started paying more attention to over the past couple of years is accessories. Creating fashion content for a living, you start to notice all the little details that make an outfit complete and eye catching, and accessories make a powerful difference.
It got me thinking, and I have a few summer accessories I’ve used for a while now that deserve their moment on the blog. I rounded up my must-haves below. So if you’re looking to make your summer outfits pop, these have my stamp of approval.
Essential Summer Accessories
My two favorite sun hats of all time are by Cuyana and Janessa Leone. Both are just as beautiful as they are functional. I take them on vacation for the pool and wear them with casual looks at home. I have the Hamilton and Simone styles by JL and the Cuyana Panama Hat.
I’ve had the Sezane Fetiche raffia belt for about 2 years now and it’s used 1-2 times weekly from about May through September. Sadly it’s discontinued, but the Selena belt is similar, and I love this Anthro belt, too. Natural belts are one of my favorite ways to give billowy dresses a little shape. And they don’t slide like others I’ve tried thanks to the texture.
Two years ago before spring break, I bought myself a really nice sarong by Totême and fell in love with their silks and minimalist prints. Last year, I added a small scarf and love how it looks in my hair, on bag handles, or around my neck for a vintage vibe. & Other Stories and Sezane always have beautiful scarves under $100.
An obvious essential summer accessory, but I wanted to call out favorites since I love hearing what others wear. The Celine Triomphe have proved worth every single penny. They’re the perfect perfect vintage-yet-relevant shape and the gold logos are gorgeous! These are similar on Amazon if you want to try out the shape before splurging.
I love woven bags in the summertime and wear them every single day. My collection keeps growing, but a few favorites are 1) this Loewe shoulder tote, which fits a good bit and has sleek leather straps, and 2) this zippered Rag & Bone crossbody, which is smaller but perfect for keys, a card case, and your phone when you want to be hands free.
