Fall Color Trend to Try: Chocolate Brown

Nothing says fall like a rich shade of brown that mirrors the natural hues of autumn. Earth tones aren’t an unusual color to wear as it cools off, but this year, chocolate brown seems to be everywhere!

So many of the pieces I’ve bought and added to my fall wishlist recently happen to be different shades of brown, from this Lululemon hoodie and these J.Crew ballet flats to these affordable Abercrombie trousers. This SIMKHAI off the shoulder top has been a go-to for date night, and this Amazon sweater dress makes the second time I’ve purchased it (first in a cream a few years ago).

How to Wear Chocolate Brown in Fall

Monochrome

As with most color trends this season, I’m seeing a lot of monochromatic outfits. I did this above by layering a knit (mine’s old Rag & Bone, but this is similar) over satin pants with my KHAITE tote and these longtime favorite Ann Taylor suede pumps.

As a Separate, a Dress or in a Layer

If a tonal look feels overwhelming, chocolate is a versatile color that looks great on most skin tones and can also be easily incorporated against denim, black, and colors.

I’ve also been loving Lululemon’s new collection of browns (called espresso and java), and this Amazon sweater and shorts set might end up being the coziest thing in your wardrobe this fall.

Shoes and Accessories

Last but not least, an easy place to work chocolate into your wardrobe is with shoes and accessories. Loeffler Randall makes my go-to pair of slim shaft booties that pair with jeans, dresses, and skirts and will add warmth to your look. And this is sleek knee high pair is perfect for dresses.
