15 Dressy Jumpsuits for Spring & Summer

You guys have been asking for more dressy looks/date night outfits/wedding attire over on Instagram, so I thought it’d be fun to kick things off with a classy jumpsuit look! I love jumpsuits, especially as we shift from spring to summer, because they’re easy to dress up or down.

I’ve worn the white jumpsuit in this post with sandals, but it also looks really pretty all dressed up. Below, a jumpsuit outfit, 15 jumpsuits for formal events, and shoes/bags to style them with this spring and summer. xo!

Picking a Dressy Jumpsuit: Materials

When picking a jumpsuit for a wedding or semi-formal event, I recommend sticking to solid colors—I love this black one-shoulder option, this ivory option, and this playful green option. The exception would be a jumpsuit like this with elevated embroidery or a dark, minimalist pattern.

I also pay attention to material, as crepe or silk looks a more formal than linen, jersey, or cotton, but if you’re just dressing up for your weekly date night or an outing with friends, you can definitely get away with adding heels and a clutch to the latter.

Keep in mind that although crepe and silk are usually more expensive, your jumpsuit definitely doesn’t have to be. There are affordable options out there with a sheen or smooth finish, like this $49 blush jumpsuit and this under $100 sleeveless white option (so good for summer!).

Dressy Jumpsuit Styling: Accessories

I recommend an easy-to-carry, petite bag like a clutch or dainty shoulder bag for this look. I can usually do a crossbody or a tote when I style jumpsuits casually, but with formal suits, the bigger the bag, the more hidden statement details, like low back bows and side ties, become. The clutch I’m wearing is a Bottega Veneta lookalike from Amazon. I don’t recommend it as it takes forever to ship, but here’s a nice lookalike.

Strappy Sandals

As far as shoes go, heeled sandals will be your best bet. Since a jumpsuit is a relatively full coverage piece, I like to pick shoe that shows as much skin as possible. Think ankle strap sandals, strappy slides, or clear heels—pumps will look a little too heavy, in my opinion.
