Transition Into Spring with These 4 Pieces

Pieces to Transition Into Spring

Outfit Details: BlankNYC Moto Jacket, Everlane Sweater, Elizabeth and James Jeans (similar here), Vince Sneakers, Blush Bag

With yesterday being the first day of spring, it’s a great time to talk about spring transitional dressing! This time of year can be challenging when it comes to clothing. The high today in North Carolina is 52 and next week it will be in the 70s, meaning we’re neither ready to retire our winter clothes nor depend on our spring wardrobes. To help ease the confusion, I’m sharing some of my favorite pieces for these in-between weeks.

Moto or Suede Jacket

A lightweight jacket that allows for layers underneath is essential this time of year. This suede BlankNYC jacket has been a favorite lately and is a crowd pleaser since it comes in a variety of colors. I have it in taupe, but the blush is perfect if you really want to get the feeling of spring. There are some great options out there for transitional outerwear like this sage bomber under $100, this leather jacket (currently 40% off), and this gorgeous white rain jacket.

Lightweight Sweaters

I recently picked up this Everlane sweater and it is such a steal for the quality. I can already tell it’ll be a year-round layering piece. It has a slightly oversized fit but still works well under a jacket. I recommend trying to reach for sweaters in lightweight material this time of year, like thin cashmere. Sleeveless sweaters like this one are a nice layering option as well.

Ankle Denim

I consider ankle jeans one of the signs that warmer weather is officially here. They’re the ideal length for wearing with sneakers, slides, mules, and, eventually, sandals. It’s also a good time to start bringing out the whites (I don’t abide by the Labor Day rule), so I just ordered a pair of these stunners in bone.

Sneakers or Mules

My most-worn spring transitional shoes are these Vince Warren sneakers. They’re incredibly comfortable and come in a wide variety of colors. I’ve been considering investing in some Gucci loafers (lookalikes here) for spring as well. You can’t go wrong with a basic white sneaker, though, like these (under $100), these (under $200), or this Rag & Bone pair.
