Stuart Weitzman Over-the-Knee Boots Review

Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots review

My Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots hold a special place in my closet because they were my first luxury purchase. I bought them pre-loved for a fall trip five Octobers ago, and I still bring them to the front of my wardrobe every year when the weather cools off.

Over the years, Stuart Weitzman has practically become synonymous with over-the-knee boots. They carry a variety of colors, heel heights, and silhouettes—the only catch is the price tag!

So today I’m sharing my honest Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots review featuring my Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots. Keep reading for my thoughts on comfort, sizing, pros/cons, and to see Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boot outfit ideas.

Are the Stuart Weitzman Over-the-Knee Boots Worth It?

When I ordered my OTK boots, I wanted a classic style that would fit me like a glove and, most importantly, stay put. I have athletic calves and couldn’t get the slimming, sleek look I wanted with lower cost boots.

At the time, I didn’t want the Highlands or the Tielands (Stuart Weitzman’s mid- and high-heel versions). I wanted a casual, walkable heel, so I bought the Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots.

Here’s my review: Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots are absolutely worth it if you want to wear OTK boots regularly in the fall and winter. They fit like they’re custom made, are comfortable and surprisingly warm, and the feel of the suede is luxurious and soft. They never slide down when worn over bottoms or bare skin. The design flatters and elongates the legs noticeably more than lower-cost alternatives.

I think Stuart Weitzman makes the best over-the-knee boot on the market. The quality is second to none, and I love my chocolate brown Lowland boots so much I’m considering investing in a black pair.

Stuart Weitzman OTK Boot Sizing

My Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots run true to size. I’m normally a size 10 and have a fairly athletic lower body and wide feet. My size 10, medium-width Lowland boots fit me like a glove.

Stuart Weitzman offers half sizes in addition to three widths (narrow, medium, and wide). You may want to consider the narrow or wide versions if you’re petite/have thin calves or have an athletic lower body, respectively.

I recommend trying them on in person if you’re able or purchasing from a retailer with a flexible return policy, like Nordstrom.

Stuart Weitzman Shaft Fit

The shaft of Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots runs narrow regardless of which width you purchase but not uncomfortably so. The stretchy suede material is meant to fit snug—this is what helps the boots stay put over a range of calf sizes.

I can wear my medium-width boots over jeans or bare legs and they stay up. They feel perfectly form-fitting, not uncomfortably tight.

Are Stuart Weitzman Over-the-Knee Boots Comfortable?

Yes, SW boots are as comfortable as they are sleek! I’ve walked several miles in mine without an issue. The footbed is lined in leather, and there’s a built-in cushion at the heel.

The interior of the shoe is lined with a satin-like material, so they’re easy to pull on. I get mine on and off by folding the shaft down to the foot of the boot, putting my feet in or out, then rolling the shaft up.

If you buy your boots new, the shaft may require a break-in period. I recommend wearing them around the house over denim to help them mold to your legs.

Do Stuart Weitzman Boots Slide Down?

No, the boots don’t budge as long as the ties are secured. The design of the shaft and the ties is essentially flawless!

I like to secure the adjustable ties in a know and then tie a bow for a little flourish. And they don’t stretch over time at all.

Where to Find Stuart Weitzman Boots on Sale

I found my pair of boots on Poshmark, but I’ve seen them marked down at Saks Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, Cettire, and The Outnet.

Stuart Weitzman occasionally holds sales at the end of the season.

For a new pair, check out Nordstrom, Zappos, Bloomingdales, Revolve, Neiman Marcus, Amazon,  and Shopbop.

Stuart Weitzman Over-the-Knee Boot Alternatives

I have yet to find an over-the-knee boot that holds its own as a Stuart Weitzman dupe. However, I do recommend Marc Fisher and Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn OTK boots if you want an OTK on a smaller budget—but just know the quality and fit will not compare.

I have a pair of Marc Fisher OTK boots that I love to style with sweater dresses—while they aren’t as comfortable or sleek as my SWs, they’re a great value for how often I’ve worn them.
